What is regenerative ranching?Updated 2 months ago

Let’s talk regenerative ranching…using regenerative processes restores the health of the entire ecosystem. It promotes biodiversity, soil health, water conservation, and climate resilience.

A regenerative ranch requires a lot of land, rotational grazing of cows (where cows are moved to different paddocks of grass so the areas that are already grazed on have time to rest and grow back), a lot of water, and a good climate suited for the breed of cattle. We also wait longer than a traditional feedlot to harvest our animals, which means they get to live longer lives. This is highly beneficial for the nutrient density and flavor of the animal, and also gives the animals time to heal the land (as the cows naturally till the soil with their hooves and the dung beatles get to bury the dung nutrients deep into the soil) and create more life.

The process of regeneration is a process - so the efforts we take NOW reflect in the long-term landscape of our ranches. YOU are a part of these efforts. Choosing to invest in regeneratively-raised beef supports this mission tremendously.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of regenerative ranching, it has not yet been scalable, or is it practical to be offered in mainstream grocery stores. A true regenerative ranch simply wouldn't have the capacity to uphold that much volume of beef to constantly be available. Most people have forgotten to step back and question how it’s even possible to have certain foods accessible in hundreds of grocery stores nationwide - this reality is so far removed from how our ancestors used to live and source their foods.

By taking a regenerative approach to ranching, we prioritize the soil! We bring life back to the soil through our regenerative practices which means the meat you consume actually benefits your health and the earth’s! This is true harmony and symbiosis.

We work with Regenified, which is an outcome-based regenerative land verification and product certification. They have certified Perennial Pastures at the highest tier of regenerative practices, meaning, we are among the very best in land stewardship.
